What blocks are available?

Company Cloud comes with a wide array of blocks to use when crafting your content. Some blocks are included by default with WordPress (marked [WP]). Other blocks are bespoke to Company Cloud (marked [CC]).

This guide will give you an overview of what is available, and what each block does. For more information on each, click through to its dedicated article.

All blocks are grouped in the block inserter. The categories below correspond to the group in the block inserter.

How do the blocks look?

How each block looks will differ on your Company Cloud template. In the block inserter you will find interactive previews when hovering over the block, showing you how it looks on your website.

Can’t find a block on your site?

Not all blocks are available on all sites. There are two reasons blocks might not be available.

You are using an older version of the block library module of Company Cloud. If you are not on an active plan, get in touch and we’ll let you know about upgrade paths.
You are using the bespoke version of Company Cloud and the block was deselected in the design process as your website did not have a use-case for it. We can always add support for it if desired.

Text

Blocks in the text section are designed to be used inline in the flow of text.

Definition items are short label-value pairs designed to present key facts or information quickly at a glance.

Commonly Used: To display contact information or a facts list.

Allows you to display an icon from the Font Awesome icon library anywhere in your content along with several sizing options.

Sections

Section blocks are bespoke to Company Cloud and come with their own section wrapper. This ensures even visual spacing and makes it easy to create beautiful pages without design consideration.

Choose a background from the built-in color palette, adjust spacing and lets you quickly add section headers and call to action buttons.

A striking section that grabs the viewers attention. Used to present a clear message urging the viewer to take action and use either of the two available buttons to move on.

Commonly Used: Catching the viewers interest, directing them to contacting you or signing up.

Presenting short information in multiple columns (one column on mobile). Supports image, title, body copy and a call to action. Cards are a common design element and can as opposed to a teaser contain multiple paragraphs as well as can feature a backgrund color.

Commonly Used: Giving an overview where the user can click through to detailed pages.

The hero block sits at the very top of the page, hence its name. This is where you can add a page title, subtitle and immediate call to action buttons. Choose between colors, images and videos as background. Limited to one per page.

Info blocks presents images and content in a side-by-side layout (desktop) or image above content below (mobile). Choose between the image on the right or left side to create engaging layouts.

Commonly Used: Presenting key features or key information with an important visual accompaniment.

Gives you the all the benefits of a section with even spacing, backgrounds, headers and footers while allowing you to fill it with text or design blocks of your choice.

Commonly Used: Creating colored backgrounds with text content.

Displaying a series of automatically numbered steps starting at 1.

Commonly Used: Clearly communicating a process, workflow or next actions.

Presenting short information in multiple columns (one column on mobile). Supports image, title, body copy and a call to action. In contrast to the card, teasers have transparent backgrounds and can only contain a short paragraph of copy.

Commonly Used: Highlighting content on summary pages, directing the user further down on the site.

Allows you to create an optimized two-column layout with one content area and a sidebar that supports callouts, media and alerts.

Commonly Used: Adding fact boxes next to related content without a text wrap effect.

Clickable squares or rectangles that consist of media (image or video) and a short text title or subtitle overlaid on top.

Commonly Used: Highly visual content to prompt user to navigate through.
Available Since: Version 1.0

Visual representation of a timeline to show pieces of content that will happen or have happened chronologically in a series of steps.

Commonly Used: Presenting history or a process over a longer time.
